Wuhan-Guangzhou High Speed Railway designed by SIYUAN has a total length of 1,069km, open to traffic on December 26, 2009.

Wuhan-Guangzhou High Speed Railway is an important part of the “four transverse four longitudinal” rapid passenger traffic skeleton railway network. Located in Hubei, Hunan and Guangdong provinces, it starts from Wuhan Station, southwards to Xiening, Yueyang, Changsha, Zhuzhou,

There are altogether 18 stations along the entire line, where the Tingsihe River Bridge is 4.382km in length, with the main span adopting 140m steel box tied arch, the largest span of the whole line; and Dayaoshan Mountain No.1 Tunnel has a total length of 10.081km, the longest tunnel of the whole line.

Upon instructions that “Wuhan-Guangzhou Passenger Special Line, a new milestone in the history of China’s railway construction, must be well constructed.” by President and General Secretary of CPC Hu Jintao, SIYUAN engineers had been meticulous during the design, and had carried out unprecedented scientific researches and argumentations. Thus, many technical difficulties have been successfully addressed in various disciplines, including un-ballasted track, seamless track (continuously welded rail), elevated station, bridge dynamic response, subgrade settlement, automatic train traffic control system, traction power supply, integrated maintenance, EMUs depot, environmental friendly green channel, etc., which have provided important technical reserves for the high speed railway construction in China.

The construction of Wuhan-Guangzhou Passenger Special Line can ease the tension of traffic in section Wuhan-Guangzhou of Beijing-Guangzhou railway line. It shortens the travelling time from Wuhan to Guangzhou from 11 hours to 4 hours, which can largely promote the development of national economy along the line.

In 2010, Wuhan-Guangzhou High Speed Railway designed by SIYUAN won the only Special Top Grade Award on Excellent Engineering Design by the Ministry of Railways.
