Engineering Survey

The Nigerian Modernization Railway Project is to build a new double-track standard-gauged railway from the southern city Lagos to the northern city Kano. The railway, with a full length of 1,315km and a design speed of 150km/h, is designed in accordance with Chinese railway specifications.

The railway section designed by SIYUAN is located at the southmost end of the project, with a main line of 250km and two branch lines of 8.5km and 7km respectively. In terms of the general engineering conditions, it’s a section with the highest technical content along the whole line, due to the dense vegetations and soft formation development.

On April 22, 2007, SIYUAN completed all the reconnaissance works, and then carried out the large- scale survey works for the project.

On July 13, 2008, SIYUAN advance team of 20 people arrived Nigeria for the supplementary survey works of the Nigerian Modernization Railway.

On January 18, 2011, construction commenced for the section Abuja~ Kaduna of the Railway Modernization Project in Nigeria.
