Having mastered a complete set of survey & design technologies for high speed railways, SIYUAN is a major compiling unit for the codes on the design of high speed railways in China as well as a major survey & design unit for the construction of high speed railways in China, toping China and even the world in terms of its volume of high speed railway survey & design works.
SIYUAN has been making breakthroughs once again in the history in domestic and even worldwide railway constructions in terms of its survey & design of high speed railways. The Hefei-Nanjing Railway completed in 2008 is the first newly built ballasted high speed railway of 250km/h with full intellectual property right. The Southeast Coastal Railway completed in 2008 enjoys a max. trial speed of 292km/h, hitting a new record in the speed of ballasted railway speed. Wuhan-Guangzhou Railway completed in the same year is a high speed railway with the longest one-time construction length and the highest speed in the world. Zhenzhou-Xi’an Railway completed and open to traffic in early 2010 is the first high speed railway in the world constructed on large area collapsible loess. Shanghai-Nanjing Intercity Railway completed and open to traffic in July the same year enjoys the highest standard, longest mileage, and fasted operational speed among intercity high speed railways all over the world. The Shanghai-Hangzhou High Speed Railway completed and open to traffic in October the same year achieved a trial speed of up to 416.6km, the highest speed of operational railways across the world at that time. The Beijing-Shanghai High Speed Railway completed and open to traffic in 2011 with a trial speed of up to 486.1 km refreshed the new record for high speed railway operation. Among the world’s four largest EMUs depots and general maintenance bases in Beijing, Wuhan, Guangzhou, and Shanghai, 3 of them are designed by SIYUAN.
During the design process of high speed railway, SIYUAN has been insisting on design concept innovation. Its design concept of “safe & comfortable, energy-saving & environmental-friendly, systematic & innovative, economical & feasible” has become a uniformly accepted goal for nowadays high speed railway construction.

With a number of high speed railway projects completed and open to traffic, SIUAN has undergone and survived from the examinations and tests in practice, demonstrating its super strength and competitiveness to the world, and well received by both its opponents and the higher authorities. SIYUAN has won 24 state-level design gold awards and technical achievements awards, 16 “Luban Awards”——the highest award in domestic construction field, over 140 provincial-level scientific research achievements awards, and over 120 provincial-level excellent survey & design awards, with 143 engineering designs listed into Chinese Enterprise New Record.
